Letter from our President and Principal

Dear SFP Students, Parents and Guardians,

This fall we will continue a special activity that has become an annual tradition for students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.

On Friday, September 30th, St. Francis Prep will host its twelfth annual Walk-a-thon fundraising event. This event is very important as we plan for the Prep’s future and strive to ensure that we are always providing our students with an outstanding education in the Franciscan tradition. With this in mind, we want to bring to your attention the following important information about the Walk-a-thon event on September 30th.

This will be a regular school day. Students will report to COR by 8:30 am and will be dismissed at approximately 11:00 am. The Senior BBQ will follow.

Every student will be required to return to the classroom with his/her COR at the conclusion of the Walk-a-thon. Bottled water and snack items will be available at that time. Attendance will be taken again! Prize winners will be announced (see below).

Every student is expected to participate. As in previous years, each student is responsible for the $100 Walk-a-thon fee which is paid automatically through the FACTS tuition payment program.

As part of the student fundraising competition to win great prizes, the student can also send in additional funds (checks should be payable to St. Francis Prep) and secure sponsorships on the student Walk-a-thon page.

Please note: Because this event is a major fundraiser for the school, students are still strongly encouraged to obtain sponsorships and compete for valuable prizes. The $100 automatic charge (paid through FACTS) WILL be counted toward the student’s fundraising totals for the prize competitions.

There will be several prize competitions:

For the highest sponsorship total by a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior COR. (Students in the four winning CORS receive $25 credit on their meal cards).

Students who secure $250 or more and $500 or more in sponsorships by September 29th (11:59 PM EST) will be entered into drawings (2) to win special prizes.

Major prizes will be awarded to the top five (5) overall fundraising students.

Copies of the Sponsorship Form to be used by the students when they secure their sponsors can be downloaded from the website. Additional information about the event can be viewed on the website as well (including the actual prizes to be awarded).
